Mission Projects At First United Methodist

FUMC has assembled 725 health kits.  These kits were sent to UMCOR to be used as needed. United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is a major contributor to the ministry and work of Central Methodist Mission. 9 cleaning buckets were recently assembled and will be sent to areas recently flooded.

Mission teams have traveled to Mexico and Beverly, Kentucky as part work groups.  Each year there opportunities to do mission work both at home and abroad. No skills are needed-just a willingness to help others.

A Red Bird Appalachian craft fair is scheduled for October 29 and 30.  Hand made items will be available.  Great Christmas gifts.

FUMC is in the process of planning an event on September 11 to launch the new hours and expanded services of the Second Harvest Food Bank located in our building.

Donate your gently worn clothes to our clothes closet.  Clothes are available at no charge. Closet is open on Saturday mornings from 10-12.

Prayer Shawl Ministry Group meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30.  No knitting experience is necessary—a good time is had by all.

Acme and Giant gift cards are available for purchase.  Each card is redeemable for face value.  5% of proceeds help the mission work of the church.
